How we would work together on your ideas and business

When you have decided which of the pages in the 'starting' section will help you the most, here is how we could work together

How do we decide what to work on?

Firstly we would meet face-to-face, discuss you and where you want the business to go. Then we normally summarise the situation and set priorities, making best use of your time and knowledge. Although there is a logical order to deal with new businesses in general, we fit the sessions to you personally and don't slavishly follow a template

How will we make the best use of time?

Each meeting results in plans for future action. My aim with any work is to make it cost-effective and empowering to you, so we cover minor points and progress by telephone or email wherever possible. Where there are things for you to research or decide on, I ensure that you have access the the information you need but you consider it in your own time and get back to me when you are ready

What about the action plans?

The actions are for either of us, as appropriate. When you want me to, I will call periodically to help you keep on track with the progress that we agreed. You are in charge of the actions, so if your time and budget vary, we change things to suit

How long am I committed to you?

There is no minimum period to work together. People find it very useful to allocate a specific budget each month and draw time against that. We simply carry over any unused time, and for this arrangement have a month's commitment on both sides

What will it cost?

Call to discuss the best arrangements to suit your time, needs and budget. I base my charges on the time and nature of the work done, and new businesses find a budget of about £100 - £200 a month provides all the help they have time to make use of

What are some typical arrangements?

  • regular telephone calls to discuss your progress and any challenges
  • step-by-step sessions to tackle things like completing a business plan, setting up, planning cashflow, getting on the web, and launching the business
  • regular monthly or quarterly meetings to push the business forwards

Overall, regularly involving someone outside the daily routine keeps your focus, brings a fresh point of view and keeps you in the driving seat.

Call to agree what's best for your time, needs and budget
